Comporta in its purest state
Co-founder of a cabinet bearing his name, Manuel Aires Mateus made quite an impression to his peers from the moment he elaborated his first creation onwards. In 1992, he created and designed this villa, the first step of an astonishing career marked by many audacious projects, one of which led him to one of the most beautiful regions of the coast of his native country, Portugal: A wild and silent land, a tangle of diverse attractive landscapes, located only an hour away from Lisbon: Comporta.
It is a modern villa, built with precise geometry and cubic shapes, patterned with large opening, and sculpted out of noble materials. Beneath its very high ceilings, the villa shelters spacious rooms, refined to attain a minimal aesthetic, traversed by clear beams of natural light. A lounge, kitchen and dining room are regrouped around numerous patios. On the parquets rest magnificent architecture, of vivid and joyful colors. The openings towards the patios are numerous, including in the master bedroom and its private bathroom, which are both entirely built with marble. In the three bungalows, which are also equipped with private bathrooms, we are greeted by privileged views of the panorama offered by the environment, both of forest and sea. It is ideal for large families, friends and groups seeking a high-end, yet relaxed, private and intimate location for time together, special occasions and/or retreats.
